I’ve dealt with hundreds of Port St Lucie home inspections over the years.

In the course of those inspections, I’ve noticed that many of them reveal some common issues.

Here are a few common home inspection issues typical to Port St Lucie and the Treasure Coast.

  • Disconnected HVAC ducting

  • Wood decay

  • Leaking faucets

  • Settlement crack in tile flooring

  • Broken & cracked windows

  • Clogged dryer vent

  • HVAC service needed

  • Missing roof shingles

  • Missing roof flashing

  • Leaking ridge vent on roof

  • Missing window screens

  • Inoperable GFCI outlets

  • Garage door openers with defective auto-reverse

  • Dangling hot wire in attic

  • Pitting pool surface

Some of these items are minor and some can cost a new home owner thousands of dollars to repair or replace. Finding your dream home is more than just riding around and looking at houses. It is important to get a thorough home inspection and solid repair estimates before moving ahead with escrow.
